CHI fosters a social movement to place health and healing at the center of our personal and global consciousness, in order to build healthier societies and sustainable stewardship of our planet.

This 3 year project will conduct a randomized controlled trial on Biofield Therapies for treating anxiety, with purposeful recruitment and sampling of BIPOC and LGBTQI+ communities. Our current data indicate that delivering a biofield-based sound therapy was feasible and effective for substantially reducing anxiety.  However, because feasibility studies do not have control or comparison groups and are done on a very small group of people, and because we had a very brief intervention with no follow-up measurements,  it is unknown whether

1) this approach is helpful for a more diverse population (including BIPOC and LGBTQI+ communities) suffering from anxiety
2) how long the effects might last after the intervention is over
3) whether reductions in anxiety are comparable to relaxation or other gold-standard approaches for clinical care.

We hope to answer these questions and provide an evidence base for holistic care for anxiety in a diverse population.  If Biofield Therapies is shown to be helpful and effective for persons with anxiety, this therapy can be considered by healthcare administrators to be integrated into clinic and hospital settings, allowing us to more readily integrate holistic therapies into healthcare and self-care.

Currency Designer Guild https://therisingfoundation.org/2022/09/13/currency-designer-guild/ Tue, 13 Sep 2022 00:00:42 +0000 https://therisingfoundation.org/?p=2754

The Currency Designers Guild (CDG) creates a community of practice for individuals to co-create and prototype regenerative currencies and incentive systems in service towards a more equitable, regenerative human ecosystem. CDG is an initiative by Commons Engine to create the first decentralized community of practice for currency designers committed to the creation of regenerative economies at the local, bioregional and global levels. The mission of the CGD is to:

  • Create an ongoing dialogue and community of practice with regenerative currency designers who are committed to creating real-world experiments.
  • Explore, prototype and field test structures that empower the emergence of socio-economic systems that contribute to greater abundance, equality and freedom.

ReImagine Science https://therisingfoundation.org/2018/08/01/reimagine-science-2/ Wed, 01 Aug 2018 00:00:06 +0000 https://therisingfoundation.org/?p=2373 ReImagine Science is a non-profit organization founded in Washington, D.C. in 2008 by a group of individuals interested in science who saw drastic change on the horizon. We knew it was time to create a space for exploration and experimentation that goes beyond problem-based solutions, to facilitate critical conversations for the future of science.

TheoryU, developed by Otto Scharmer at MIT, is a “framework and methodology that allows diverse groups of stakeholders to co-sense, reimagine, reinvent, and co-create the larger eco-systems in which they operate.” It operates in the domain first developed by Jay Forrester in his systems dynamics theory. Ed Shein, who worked with engineers to develop T group theory, and Peter Senge, who brought systems thinking to the broader business, technology, and education communities, have provided some of the key theoretical frameworks for Otto’s systems change theory.

Delving into fields of study that main stream science considered taboo, using modern scientific practices they discovered some deep human truths. Using this knowledge they then translated it into world class education programs such as WorldView ExplorationConscious Aging and Living Deeply.
