We provide Sponsorships and Grants as outlined on our Offerings page.
We support project-based activities including:
- Proof of concept
- Validation studies
- Capacity building/scaling
- Direct, within the organization
- Indirect, spreading the mission beyond the organization
- New capabilities
We do NOT support:
- Operational expenses
- Organization overhead
- General staff salaries
Grants awards are only considered for organizations who have received an invitation to apply. Refer to the Letter of Inquiry or Grant Request pages for further details.
You can only have 1 active grant during any 12 month period. Requests are processed on a quarterly basis based on the TRF board schedule. You will be notified with 10 days regarding the outcome of your request.
Grants are evaluated on a quarterly basis at scheduled board meetings. Submissions after the following dates will be evaluated in the subsequent quarters
- February 1st
- May 1st
- August 1st
- November 1st
Grants are evaluated using our Grant Evaluation Rubrik. Proposals must achieve a minimum score as defined below:
- Letter of Inquiry – 8
- Grant Request – 12
Grant requests are typically in the $10,000 to $25,000 range. The amount awarded will be determined based on the project details. We may partially fund some aspects of a project. Projects with a lump sum request will be returned with a request for further breakdown.
Smaller grants will be considered for shorter term projects.
Grants are typically awarded for a single year. Multi-year grants may be award (up to 3 years) based on longer project duration’s.
Subsequent year funding will be released upon review of previous years achievements and outcomes.
Organizations can apply for sponsorships and grants on an annual basis. Letters of Inquiry can be submitted at any time. They will be awarded based on foundation funds available. Typically an organization will be limited to one approved grant in a calendar year.
